Who are native people of Somalia?

Cushitic peoples are considered the indigenous people of Somalia.

The Somalis originated in the Horn of Africa from local Cushitic-speaking populations who gradually mixed with Afroasiatic-speaking, particularly Semitic, populations. The Somali people trace their lineage to Dir and Samaale (or Hawiye), considered to be the ancestors of the two major Somali clans. There are also two minorities in the country, the Bantu peoples and the ethnic minorities.

Somali Bantu are ethnic groups of Bantu origin who mainly reside in southern Somalia, particularly in the lower Jubba and Shebelle riverine areas, and comprise various clans such as the Gosha, WaGosha, Yantaal (Yantaali), Shidle (Shidleey), Jareerweyne, Tunni, Baajuun and Mwsangaan of the Coastal areas. According to the CIA World Factbook, the ethnic minorities consist of the Bravanese (46,000), Bantu and other (90,000), and Arabs (62,000).
