What Is the Difference Between the Atlantis Cove & Reef?

The Atlantis Resort, on Paradise Island in the Bahamas, is one of the top resort destinations in the Caribbean. It offers a choice six different accommodations that include the two latest luxury, all-suite additions: The condominium-style Reef Atlantis, and the upscale Cove Atlantis. Although these two accommodations are part of the complex, they differ in a variety of ways, including their general features, suite layout and on-site dining options.
  1. General Features

    • The Cove Atlantis, opened in March 2007, includes 600 luxury suites that are geared toward couples. Guests at the Cove get special features, such as access to an adult-only Cove Pool and Cabana Club that offers private pool-side cabanas with bar service, daybeds, a full range of spa services, and a beach concierge ready to arrange a wide array of activities throughout the complex. In addition, the club serves gourmet breakfast and hors d'oeuvres during the day. The Reef Atlantis, opened in December 2007, offers 497 luxury suites that are more tailored toward families. Although it lacks the special features of the Cove, the suites include fully-equipped, stainless-steel kitchens and kitchenettes. The larger two-bedroom suites include washers and dryers. Guests at the Reef have direct access to the Cascade Pool and the beach.

    Accommodations

    • The Cove Atlantis offers six types of oversized suites: the 672-square-foot Ocean Suites on the 1st through 3rd floors, the 784-square-foot Deluxe Ocean Suites on the 4th through the 19th floors, the 1,198-square-foot, one- and two-bedroom Azure Suites on the top five floors, the 1,700-square-foot Sapphire Suites (also on the top five floors), as well as the 2,751-square-foot Presidential Suites and the 4,070-square-foot Penthouse Suites, which are both located on the top floors. The Reef Atlantis includes three types of luxury suites: the 523-square-foot Studio, the One-Bedroom Suite that ranges in size from 974- to 1,195-square feet, and the Two-Bedroom Suite, which includes sizes between 1,497- and 1,718-square-feet.
