High End Caribbean Vacations

When it comes to high-end vacations, the Caribbean features some of the most luxurious and scenic destinations around. Upscale resorts in the Caribbean often have their own private beaches and feature numerous recreational facilities. These resorts offer fine-dining restaurants, nightclubs with live entertainment and full-service spas. The lodging units often have their own pools and are loaded with amenities.
  1. Casa de Campo

    • The Casa de Campo in the Dominican Republic is an upscale resort encompassing more than 7,000 acres. It has luxury lodging, riding stables, trap and skeet shooting ranges, 14 swimming pools, golf courses and three polo fields. The villas feature amenities such as full kitchens, private pools, tropical gardens, daily breakfasts and private maid service. Located along the coast, Casa De Campo has its own beach and provides guests with opportunities to fish, snorkel, swim and kayak. Numerous boutiques are located on the property along with 20 restaurants and 15 bars, many of which feature live entertainment. Supervised programs are available for children and teens.

    Cap Juluca

    • Cap Juluca provides a luxurious and secluded vacation along a mile and a half beach on Maundays Bay on the island of Anguilla. The property features buildings with Greco-Moorish architecture, 60,000 flowering plants and rooms with Bose Wave stereos, patio furniture, and plush linens and bathrobes. Recreational highlights include a 7,063-yard championship golf course designed by Greg Norman. Guests can order private dinners in their villas or on the beach. Fine-dining is also available at the resort's three restaurants. Its Maundays Club is an upscale night club along the beach with live entertainment. Cap Juluca has a 32-foot boat for snorkeling and cruises. Its concierge desk will help guests book a yacht, helicopter or jet for day trips.

    Half Moon

    • The Half Moon resort is located along a two-mile, crescent-shaped beach on the northern coast of Jamaica. This is an all-inclusive resort on 400-acre property with lush tropical gardens. The units include 33 villas that range in size from four to seven bedrooms. The Half Moon has a wide variety of recreational amenities, including an 18-hole golf course, a fitness center an equestrian center, 54-swimming pools and 13 tennis courts with lights. The resort, which got its start back in the late 1950s, also has a full-service spa, a lagoon where guests can swim with dolphins, six restaurants, numerous shops and eight cocktail lounge/bars. Organized activities are available for children.

    Jade Mountain

    • Jade Mountain, which opened in 2006, is a resort within a resort located on the 600-acre Anse Chastanet property in St. Lucia. Built on the top of a hill overlooking a bay in the Caribbean Sea, Jade Mountain features a pool with each room and luxury lodging. The pools extend outward to the edge of the building and provide a view downward at the beach and bay. Guests who stay at Jade Mountain are given access to all of Anse Chastanet's facilities, including two bars, two restaurants, tennis courts, a fitness center and numerous sports facilities. A full-service spa is also available, while snorkeling is a popular activity at its private beach. Children under the age of 15 are not permitted at the Jade Mountain resort.
