How much gold is found in Egypt?

There are approximately 2,700 tons of gold reserves in Egypt, making it one of the countries with the largest gold reserves in the world. While much of this gold is found in the Eastern Desert, there are also significant deposits in the Red Sea Hills and the Sinai Peninsula.
