When were the Himalayas discovere?
The Himalayas were not "discovered" in any traditional sense. They are some of the tallest mountains on Earth and were known to the people living in Asia for thousands of years. However, the first European to document their existence was the Greek historian Herodotus in the 5th century BCE, who referred to them as the "Imaus Mountains." They were later described in detail by the Chinese explorer Xuanzang in the 7th century CE.
