Who is the first artist in Ethiopia?

Afework Tekle (Ge'ez: አፈወርቅ ተክሌ; 11 December 1892 – after 1972), also known as Afework Tekle Mariam (Ge'ez: አፈወርቅ ተክሌማርያም; or even as Afework Gebreyes ( Ge'ez: አፈወርቅ ገብረየስ) was a pioneering modern Ethiopian artist. He was an accomplished and renowned painter, sculptor and traditional-music performer. Some consider him the first Ethiopian modernist artist.
