How to Learn the Swahili Alphabet

When traveling, it is always helpful to know the local language. Swahili is spoken in many parts of Eastern and Southern Africa. Although Swahili uses the same alphabet characters used in the West, there are variations in the way the alphabet is written. The Swahili alphabet has 23 letters; "q" and "x" are not used and "c" is never used alone. Learn the Swahili alphabet using the traditional method of schooling or various self-teaching techniques.
