What materials was used to build Zimbabwe?

Great Zimbabwe was built using granite stones without the use of mortar; a method known as dry stone walling. The city’s walls are some of the largest man-made structures from pre-colonial Africa. It is estimated that about a million granite blocks were cut, shaped, and stacked on top of each other to build Great Zimbabwe. Some of the granite blocks used weighed approximately 50 tons.
