In which part of sri lanka did Tamils live?

Tamils have historically lived in the northern and eastern parts of Sri Lanka. These areas include the Northern Province, Eastern Province, and parts of the North Central Province and Uva Province. The Northern Province includes the districts of Jaffna, Kilinochchi, Mannar, Mullaitivu, and Vavuniya. The Eastern Province includes the districts of Batticaloa, Ampara, and Trincomalee. Additionally, there are significant Tamil populations in certain parts of the North Central Province, such as Polonnaruwa and Anuradhapura, and in parts of the Uva Province, such as Badulla and Monaragala.
