Who discovered the zambezi river?

The Zambezi River was first discovered by Europeans in 1502 when Portuguese explorer Vasco da Gama sailed along the coast of East Africa. He anchored his ships in the mouth of the Zambezi River and named it "Rio dos Bons Sinais" (River of Good Omens).
