Where do fennec foxes live in Morocco?
The fennec fox (Vulpes zerda) is a small fox found in the deserts of North Africa. In Morocco, it is present in the south-eastern part of the country, particularly in the regions of Ouarzazate, Zagora, Errachidia, and Figuig. These areas are characterized by arid and semi-arid habitats with rocky outcrops, sand dunes, and sparse vegetation. Fennec foxes prefer rocky areas with soft sand, where they can easily dig burrows for shelter and protection from predators and extreme temperatures.
