Climate change further exacerbates the situation by causing shifts in temperature and precipitation patterns, which harm rainforests' flora and fauna. Poaching, the illegal hunting and killing of animals for body parts or trophies, also depletes wildlife populations in rainforests and affects the entire ecosystem's health.
In my opinion, deforestation poses the biggest challenge to rainforests. It is the root cause that exacerbates the effects of climate change and poaching. The loss of habitat directly impacts the survival of countless plant and animal species. Additionally, deforestation also results in soil erosion, reducing the fertility of the land and its capacity to support agriculture in the long run. Addressing deforestation effectively, through international collaborations and sustainable land-use practices, is crucial for preserving the world's valuable rainforest ecosystems.
