Is North Africa hot or cold?

The Sahara desert in Northern Africa is one of the hottest places on earth. The average temperature is around 30 degrees Celsius, but it can get much hotter, especially during the summer when temperatures can reach up to 50 degrees Celcius. The Sahara is also very dry, with very little rain.
