Singapore: An Island, Not a West–East Span

Singapore is a sovereign island city-state at the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula. It has no "west to east" span in the continental sense. Dimensions:

  • Length (E–W): ~50 km (31 mi).
  • Width (N–S): ~27 km (17 mi).
  • Area: 734 km² (283 sq mi), expanding via reclamation.

It lies between the Strait of Malacca (west) and South China Sea (east). The question may confuse it with the Malay Peninsula's width.
