Asian Medical Institute (Kyrgyzstan) and WHO Recognition

As of the latest World Health Organization (WHO) World Directory of Medical Schools, Asian Medical Institute (AMI) in Kyrgyzstan is not listed as a recognized/accredited medical school.

Implications:

  • Graduates may not be eligible for licensing exams (USMLE, PLAB, FMGE, AMC, etc.) in many countries.
  • ECFMG certification (required for US residency) requires the school to be in the World Directory.
  • Always verify directly on wdoms.org or the national medical council of your target country.

Prospective students should consider WHO-listed alternatives in Kyrgyzstan (e.g., Kyrgyz State Medical Academy, Osh State University) or other countries.
