Take the cardboard egg cartons, and fill each empty egg space with the dryer lint. It does not matter how large the egg container is as long as it is made of paperboard.
Chop up the wax or grate it so that it is in small, easy-to-melt pieces. You can use wax left over from old candles or crayons, or whatever you have that you don’t need around the house. Make sure that you remove any metal from the leftover wax.
Place enough of the chopped wax in each of the cardboard egg spots in the egg carton to completely cover the lint.
Put the egg carton in the microwave to melt the wax. The time it takes to melt will be different depending on your microwave, so it is best to stand and watch the fire starters to make sure that the wax only melts enough to saturate the lint. Another option is to melt the wax ahead of time and pour it over the lint, but this is messier and more dangerous.
Cut the egg carton into sections after the wax cools. Each section should consist of two egg spaces.
Take the campfire fire starters and place them at the bottom of your kindling when it is time to build your fire. Light the cardboard part of the fire starter, and your fire will begin to burn.
