Fill a container about 1/4-inch deep with gasoline. The size of the container will depend on how much fire paste you want to make.
Tear the foam pieces into chunks. Add the foam chunks to the gasoline. The foam pieces will dissolve into the gasoline pool.
Continue adding the foam to the gasoline-foam mix. The mixture will begin to thicken into a paste within the container.
Pour off any excess gasoline from the paste-like substance after you have the amount you need.
Set the container aside for 24 hours to allow the paste to dry. During this period, the foam will continue to absorb the gasoline and the substance will become gooey. This highly flammable paste can then be spread onto wood or kindling and ignited to start fires.
