Deepor Beel is a permanent freshwater lake in a saucer shaped low-lying area of Brahmaputra Valley of Assam. It is located to the south-west of Guwahati city, in Kamrup Metropolitan district in the state of Assam, India. It is renowned as a sanctuary for migratory waterfowls. The bird count in Deepor Beel area annually touches nearly one lakh at the peak season.
