Why is Japan called The Land of the Rising Sun).?

Japan is known as "The Land of the Rising Sun" in English due to its geographic location east of the Eurasian continent. As the Earth rotates on its axis from west to east, Japan being situated in the far eastern region experiences the first rays of the morning sun before most other countries. Therefore, Japan is often perceived as where the sun first rises; hence the poetic name "The Land of the Rising Sun"
