When they discover the oil in Saudi Arabia?

The first commercial quantities of oil in Saudi Arabia were discovered in 1938 by a team led by American geologist Max Steineke. The team was working for the California-Arabian Standard Oil Company (Casoc), a forerunner to the Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Saudi Aramco). The team discovered oil in the Dammam area of Saudi Arabia, and the oilfield that was discovered was called the Dammam Field. The Dammam Field was the first major oilfield to be discovered in Saudi Arabia, and it led to the development of the Saudi oil industry.
