Islam was brought to Central Asia by Arab traders and missionaries in the 8th century, and quickly spread throughout the region. Today, Islam is the dominant religion in Central Asia, with over 90% of the population identifying as Muslim.
Arab influence can also be seen in the languages and cultures of Central Asia. Many Central Asian languages, such as Kazakh, Kyrgyz, and Uzbek, are Turkic languages that have been heavily influenced by Arabic. Additionally, many Central Asian cultures share similarities with Arab cultures, such as the importance of family and hospitality.
