Southern Asia is home to the Himalayas, the highest mountain range in the world, which includes Mount Everest, the highest peak in the world at 8,848 meters above sea level. Other major mountain ranges in Southern Asia include the Karakoram, Hindu Kush, Pamir, and Tien Shan.
Northern Asia, on the other hand, is generally flatter, with few major mountain ranges. The main mountain ranges in Northern Asia include the Ural Mountains, which form the boundary between Europe and Asia, and the Altai Mountains, which run through Mongolia and Siberia.
