Old Monuments in India

India has a rich and ancient history which dates centuries before the colonization by the British Raj. The Taj Mahal is a well-known example of a building by the Muslim Mughal Empire, which ruled most of India prior to the British conquest. Some of the monuments of India are even more ancient than the Taj Mahal. The Buddhist University of Nalanda may well have been established prior to the year 150 A.D.
