What is an important business in Tajikistan?

Tajikistan's economy largely revolves around agriculture, which contributes about 20% to the GDP. Cotton is the most important agricultural product, followed by fruits and vegetables. However, the country is largely mountainous, and farming is limited by the availability of water and arable land. Therefore, Tajikistan is heavily reliant on imports for many other agricultural products. Tajikistan's mineral resources include gold, silver, copper, zinc, antimony, and lead. Although there is some mining in Tajikistan, the country is not a major exporter of these minerals, largely due to the remoteness of the mining sites and lack of infrastructure.
