Where is the outback of Australia?

The outback is a term used to define the vast, remote and often sparsely populated areas of the Australian continent. It typically refers to the arid and semi-arid regions located beyond the settled coastal areas and the fertile agricultural regions, such as the vast interior of the continent encompassing areas in Western Australia, Northern Territory, South Australia and Outback Queensland.
