Australian Athletes Born Overseas: Representing Australia

Many elite Australian athletes were born outside Australia but chose to represent the nation. Examples include:

• Peter Bol (800m runner) – born in Sudan.
• Jaryd Clifford (para-athlete) – born in New Zealand.
• Brandon Starc (high jumper) – born in Sudan.
• Ellia Green (rugby sevens) – born in Fiji.

These athletes often migrated as children and developed their careers in Australia.
