Why South Australia and New Wales have deserts?

South Australia and New Wales do not have deserts. However, parts of South Australia such as the Nullarbor Plain, and parts of New South Wales like the Strzelecki Desert and Western Plains are considered arid or semi-arid regions. These areas experience low rainfall, high temperatures, and limited access to water resources.
