Book a trip that includes everyone in your family, from young children up to senior citizens. QR provides free tickets for all children under the age of five. Also, pensioners and senior citizens can purchase half-price tickets aboard QR trains.
Buy QR train tickets through any of three vendors. Stations through Queensland offer ticket vending machines (TVM's) and boarding stations for convenient booking. Certain stations north of Brisbane require you to buy the ticket from the station guard.

Before trying to take your bike on the train, know the rules: no bicycles are allowed on Queensland Rail trains during rush hour (Monday through Friday, 7 to 9:30 a.m. and 3 to 6:30 p.m.).
