Take a Niagara Wine Tour. It’s a leisurely drive through an impressive array of vineyards nestled between the Niagara Escarpment and Lake Ontario. While in the area visit Artpark, in Lewiston, a quaint village just north of Niagara Falls. The park features a full range of arts from visual to performing. Plan to spend some time in charming Niagara-on-the-Lake, and stay the night at one of the cozy, romantic bed and breakfasts, like Addison's located in "Old Town" Niagara-on-the-Lake.
Enjoy dining possibilities here in several romantic restaurants with great views, like the Niagara Falls Skylon. It stands at 775 feet and the Revolving Dining Room at the top of the tower in the Dome will delight you. The restaurant turns at one rotation per hour, the food is wonderful and the views are breathtaking. Then stroll outside to the Observation Deck. On a clear day, you can see most of southern Ontario and Buffalo, New York as well as Toronto's skyline, which is about 90 minutes away.
Head for the Falls and watch the spectacular nighttime view when the waterfall is illuminated. Every evening beginning at dusk you’ll see the colors of the rainbow. An awesome fireworks display also lights up the night through early September. Visit in winter and see the Festival of Lights. It’s breathtaking. A variety of free concerts are held in Victoria Park, right across the street from the Falls during Christmas and New Years. Another romantic time to visit is Valentine’s Day. Bundle up and snuggle your significant other as you go for a horse-drawn carriage ride along the scenic Niagara Parkway.
At day's end, try some gambling. You don't have to be a gambler to enjoy dropping some change into the slot machines. Try your luck at one of the 1,700 slot machines and more than 60 gaming tables at Casino Niagara, located in the heart of downtown. Or, head to Fallsview Casino and Resort, an incredible hi-rise overlooking the falls.
