Why did Canada go to war with Japan?

Canada did not go to war with Japan. Canada joined the Allied Powers in World War II, declaring war on the Empire of Japan on 8 December 1941 in response to the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. Canada's involvement in the war against Japan was due to its position as a British Dominion as well as its commitment to collective security and the defense of democracy against aggressive regimes.
