Old Quebec City Attractions

Four hundred years ago, Samuel de Champlain settled in the area that would later become Quebec City. From a fur trading settlement to a world-class city there is much to see. Old Québec, or Vieux Quebec, in 1985 was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walking in the neighborhood with its narrow streets and stone houses is one way to discover the area. But you should also make a point of seeing certain points of interest in Old Quebec City as well as a natural point outside of the city.
  1. Artillilery Park

    • Along the wall of the old city lies Artillery Park. Built in the early 1700s there are several buildings including an interpretive center and artillery manufacturing building. Inside the Dauphine Redoubt, visitors will find barracks and the officer quarters that are decorated as they would have been in the 1830s when officers lived in these rooms. It is also possible to see a scale model of Quebec City that was built between 1806 and 1808.
