Oklahoma City is the largest city in the state of Oklahoma, with mild temperatures and about 3,000 hours of sunshine per year. Museums abound in this city, with themes ranging from the wild west to military, and from baseball to banjos. Add theme parks, horse shows and rodeos, and the chance is good that visitors will stay busy for as long as you want. Many visitors find it meaningful to pay a visit to the Oklahoma City National Memorial, which honors those who lost their lives in the April 1995 bombing attack of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building.
Frontier City is an amusement park with a wild west theme, located in northeast Oklahoma City on I-35. It features roller-coasters, other thrill rides, children's rides, games and concerts. Favorite rides include a 51-foot-high roller coaster called the Mind Bender, and the eight-person family boat ride named Renegade Rapids. For the younger crowd, there is the Flying Dragons ride, and Tina's Tea Party, a spinning tea party inside Paul Bunyan's Tiny Timber Town. Season passes also allow entrance White Water Bay, a water park with rides, slides and swimming pools.
