Orlando Tourist Attractions

Orlando, Florida is home to some of the nation's best theme parks, museums, performing arts centers, shopping, and sporting events. Popular tourist attractions include theme parks that have some of the wildest roller coasters and rides in the world, interactive experiences with animals native to the region, and tours of the area's natural wildlife.   1. Orlando Museum of Art

    • An educational institution that ardently supports the visual arts, the Orlando Museum of Art (OMA) collects and preserves notable works, presents exhibitions, and develops educational and creative programs. Art collections on display include African art, American art both before and after 1945, art of the ancient Americas, new acquisitions and the Contemporary American Graphics Collection. Each year, there are 10 to 12 exhibitions which change intermittently, and can include subject matter like contemporary art, life stories in American portraits, art of the American landscape, and others. The OMA is appropriate for all ages.

    Gatorland

    • Gatorland is one of Orlando’s oldest attractions, and is a low-tech 110-acre theme park and wildlife preserve that is known as the “Alligator Capital of the World.” Within the park are thousands of alligators and crocodiles to interact with, a breeding marsh with a boardwalk and observation tower, reptilian shows, an aviary, a petting zoo, and a swamp walk. Gatorland offers adventure tours for interested tourists (at an additional fee) and includes the Trainer for a Day program, Gator Night Shine, Adventure Hour, and Rookie Wrestling. Birding tours are available through the breeding marsh, and is an after-hours Gatorland event that introduces visitors to 20 different bird species.

    Discovery Cove

    • Discovery Cove is a water-based tropical theme park that includes animal encounters and relaxation opportunities. Visitors can swim with dolphins, go snorkeling with tropical fish and stingrays, hand feed birds in an aviary, enjoy beaches within the park, and float in the winding river. The all-inclusive day experience includes access to all park attractions, and include the following amenities: continental breakfast, lunch, unlimited snacks, and drinks, lockers, sunscreen, changing facilities, snorkel gear, all day self parking, and additional unlimited admissions to Sea World Orlando, Aquatica, or Busch Gardens Tampa Bay.
