Did Argentine people ever inhabit the Falkland islands?

There is no evidence to suggest that Argentine people ever inhabited the Falkland Islands. The islands were first settled by British colonists in 1765. While there have been periods of Argentine occupation, there has never been a permanent Argentine population on the islands.
