How did Fraser Island get its name?

The traditional Butchulla name for Fraser Island was K'gari, meaning "paradise". Fraser Island is named after Eliza Fraser, the sole survivor of the survivors of the Stirling Castle shipwreck in 1836. The ship captain named the island after her.
