Who brought Islam to the Caribbean?
The introduction of Islam in the Caribbean can be traced back to the 17th century when enslaved people from West Africa were forcibly brought to work on plantations in the region. These enslaved Africans often came from regions with strong Islamic traditions, including Senegal, Gambia, and Nigeria. They brought with them their religious practices and contributed significantly to the spread of Islam in the Caribbean.
