What is a Bermuda seam?

A Bermuda seam is a type of seam used in garment making. Unlike many seam variations that feature edges folded on one inside of the fabric over to another section folded inward to create one flat seam, an American seam utilizes three fabric edges for a sturdier and more finished result.
