Things to Do in Negril, Jamaica

Negril, Jamaica is located on the western end of the small island of Jamaica. It is known for its casual atmosphere, pristine white, sandy beaches and breathtaking cliffs and vistas. It is one of the most popular destinations for tourists who visit the island, as there is something for just about everyone to do.
  1. Visit Bloody Bay

    • Once a port for whalers, Bloody Bay is now a popular spot for Jamaican tourists who are looking to relax and catch some beautiful views. It gets its name from the days when whales were towed in by ships to be gutted. It was said that the bay ran red with their blood, and the bay was aptly named Bloody Bay.

Whether visitors are looking to take part in scuba diving, water skiing, swimming or sunbathing this beach has it all. There are also plenty of local shops and vendors available for those looking to unload a few dollars.

Have a Drink in the Jungle

    • The Jungle Night Club is one of the newer additions to Negril nightlife. Staying true to its name, the Jungle Night Club has a jungle motif complete with waterfalls and hanging plants. There are three bars to choose from so partygoers are never too far from a stiff drink. For those who are looking to have some fun in a new and unique environment, the Jungle Night Club is one great spot to consider.

    Check Out Booby Cay

    • Also called Gilligan's Island, Booby Cay is a small island off of the coast of Negril. Many hotels arrange trips there for their guests, but for visitors who do not have this already arranged, Booby Cay is a must-see. This spot is great for those who love water sports, relaxation, and especially snorkeling and scuba diving as the coral reefs are exceptionally beautiful and intact in this area.

The island gets its name from the magnificent Booby birds that use the island as their breeding ground every year.

Spend a Day at Mayfield Falls

    • Just outside of Negril, Mayfield Falls is a group of waterfalls that attracts visitors from all over the island and the world. Jamaica is known for its beautiful waterfalls and Mayfield Falls is no different. Entry to the area grants people access to the entire park for the duration of the day. Take some time to picnic in the tranquil natural area or enjoy a soak in the natural jacuzzi provided by the warm water.
