Caribbean Vacations for Teens

Teenagers can participate in a multitude of vacation adventures to the Caribbean where they can learn new skills, lounge on the beach and interact with peers. Programs range in length between 14 and 32 days and group teens according to age and experience level. Some programs focus on acquiring a particular skill, such as sailing, some focus on exposing participants to the benefits of community service and others focus on immersing participants in a variety of new activities.
  1. ActionQuest

    • ActionQuest offers vacations to the Leeward and French Caribbean Islands for teenagers at least 15 years of age. Teens sail aboard a catamaran or single-hulled yacht for a visit to more than 10 islands in the Caribbean. Trips are conducted in small groups of 8 to 10 participants and 2 staff members. The 21-day vacation begins in West End, Tortola and travels to destinations that include Savannah Bay, the British Virgin Islands, Nevis, Antigua, St. Barts and Saba. The trip includes snorkeling, water skiing, hiking, surfing and scuba diving. Along the way, every participant has the opportunity to earn certificates, such as the Crew Certificate and the Basic Flotilla Skipper Certificate through International Yachtmaster Training.

    Broadreach

    • Broadreach offers a variety of Caribbean programs for teens to enjoy that range in length between 14 and 32 days. The 21-day Caribbean Underwater Discoveries Program is for teens between 13 and 18 years of age and no previous scuba or sailing experience is required. Trips include stops in St. Martin, St. Barts, St. Kitts, Saba, Statia and Nevis. Teens participate in rain forest hikes, island explorations, body surfing and can earn certifications in Professional Association Dive Instructors (PADI) Open Water and Advanced Open Water Scuba Diver certifications and International Yachtmaster Training. The 32-day Caribbean Archipelago Sailing Voyage for teens between 14 and 18 years of age offers participants the opportunity to earn a variety of International Yacht Training certifications. Teens go night sailing, handle small boats, hike through rain forests, explore waterfalls and become immersed in the surrounding cultures. They explore 25 islands from St. Martin to Trinidad.

    Lifeworks International

    • Lifieworks International offers a cultural immersion and community service program in the British Virgin Islands. The trip travels to destinations that include Spyglass Mountain, Savannah Bay, Anegada, Muskmellon Bay, Mount Sage and Smuggler's Cove. Throughout the 21-day program, participants work with the National Parks Trust to collect and plant seedlings in devastated areas, learn about ways to preserve the area's coral reefs, participate in programs and playtime at schools and community centers and pitch in with construction projects. Throughout the trip, teens also participate in leisure activities, including snorkeling, beach lounging and rock and mountain climbing. Students live aboard a sailing vessel and learn the skills and techniques involved in sailing.

    SeaTrek BVI

    • SeaTrek BVI offers summer camp programs for adolescents in the British Virgin Islands with no previous experience in diving, sailing or marine biology, for those with advanced or master skills and for teens anywhere in between. Three-week-long trips are organized according to experience level and offer teens the ability to choose the areas in which they would like to participate. Novice divers learn to scuba dive through theory and confined diving skill development and then apply their newly learned skills during night, wreck and underwater navigation dives. Teens also learn about what is involved in rescue diving. Participants with some experience in diving can earn advanced National Association of Underwater Instructors (NAUI) skills and certifications.
