Onboard Carnival ships, teen areas are broken down into age groups. For 12 to 14- year-olds, there is Circle C; and for 15 to 17-year-olds, Carnival offers a space called Club O2. Each teen area is fitted with age-appropriate activities including board games, dance parties and video games and karaoke, respectively. In addition to on-board activities, cruises that call into Limon, Costa Rica, feature teen-only treetop adventure excursions on Carnival's Rainforest Canopy Adventure.

Royal Caribbean's Voyager Class offers cruises to the Caribbean with a host of onboard teen activities, including ice skating rinks, full-size basketball and volleyball courts, teen-only clubs and miniature golf. Also available in teen-only areas are surfing simulators, themed nights, teen casinos and backstage tours. The youth programs on Royal Caribbean cruise ships are divided by age from 12 to 14 and 15 to 17.
