Diving enthusiasts can book underwater expeditions to see exotic caves, plants and animals at Varadero's more than 32 diving sites. Tourists with an interest in urban tourism can visit the municipal museum or shop at Taller de Cerámica, a pottery studio featuring the works of local artisans.
According to the Travel Channel, for convenience, most Varadero visitors book all-inclusive vacation packages at mega resorts such as Club Med and the Melia Las Americas Hotel. Vacationers visiting Varadero on all-inclusive packages participate in tourist activities with the help of hotel staff. Varadero does not offer bed and breakfast accommodations because generally speaking, with rare exceptions, tourists cannot rent accommodations in private Cuban homes.
