Chichen Itza Tours From Cozumel

Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula has many Mayan ruins, including the renowned, well-preserved Chichen Itza. It is in the middle of the peninsula, and the island of Cozumel is at the southern edge of the peninsula. There is no overland route from Cozumel to Chichen Itza, so the tours start by ferry, and then continue by bus from Cancun to Chichen Itza. Several tour operators in Cozumel offer day tours to Chichen Itza. The trip takes approximately three hours one way, including the ferry ride.
  1. Gray Line Cozumel

    • The Gray Line tour starts as early as 7 a.m. from Cozumel, but breakfast is included en route to Chichen Itza, and lunch is served on arrival. A guide accompanies the group all the way from Cozumel, and will also guide the group around Chichen Itza. The price for the tour is $157.

Gray Line also offers an optional horseback tour to a sinkhole. The ancient Mayans used these both as wells and holy places.
