The Alaska Park Connection takes travelers by bus between Anchorage and Denali National Park. Using the bus service, travelers can travel to or from Denali. During the 2010 summer season, the Denali Express bus will leave Anchorage at 7 a.m. and arrive at Denali National Park at 12:30 p.m. Departing buses leave Denali at 2 p.m. and arrive in Anchorage at 7:30 p.m., so visitors typically arrange an overnight stay near the park. On a bus tour, you also have the benefit of commentary from the driver, who will point out highlights along the scenic Parks Highway. Once in the park, visitors can choose from a variety of hiking, whitewater rafting, helicopter ride and guided tour opportunities.

Alaska residents and travelers can board the Alaska Railroad's Denali Star train from Anchorage to Denali National Park. During the 2010 season, the train will leave Anchorage at 8:15 a.m. and arrive at Denali at 3:55 p.m. Similar to bus and motorcoach tours, visitors who travel to Denali by train typically arrange for overnight accommodations and tour the park the following day. Southbound trains leave Denali at 12:15 p.m. and arrive in Anchorage at 8 p.m.

All Alaska Tours offers a day trip from Anchorage to Denali National Park via a plane ride, departing from Merrill Field in Anchorage. After a 75-minute flight that flies by Mount McKinley, visitors arrive in the park and board a six- to eight-hour bus tour into the park's interior. As of February 2010, All Alaska Tours advertised prices beginning at $595 per adult for this tour, which starts in May 2010. Rates include the price of the round-trip flight, bus tour and a boxed lunch. This company requires a minimum of four people to operate this tour.
