Are there rivers in Easter Island?
Easter Island does not have any permanent rivers or streams. This is because the island is very small, and the climate is very dry. The average annual rainfall on the island is only about 1,100 millimeters (43 inches), and most of this rain falls during the winter months. The island's soil is also very porous, so water quickly seeps into the ground. As a result, there are no rivers or streams that flow for very long distances on the island.
