Where is Ionian Sea?

The Ionian Sea is located in the central Mediterranean Sea, between the southern portion of the Italian Peninsula and the western region of Greece. It is bounded by the Italian regions of Calabria and Apulia to the west and the Greek regions of Epirus and the Peloponnese to the east. The Ionian Sea also borders Albania to the north and the Greek island of Kythira to the south. The sea connects to the Adriatic Sea to the north through the Strait of Otranto and to the Aegean Sea to the east through the Strait of Messina.
