Top Ten Largest Coral Reefs

Coral reefs are the habitats for coral. They cover about 0.2 percent of the ocean floor, but are home to nearly 25 percent of all marine life. There are different varieties of coral reef: a barrier reef, such as the one in Australia, atolls, which are barrier reefs that encircle water without a central island, and fringing reefs, which are directly attached to an island's shoreline. Size can be measured in surface area and length.
