Best Vacation Cities in Puerto Rico

The Caribbean island of Puerto Rico is known for its roaring Latin culture with its unique dance, art, music and food. Its deep-rooted Spanish colonial history is well preserved and celebrated, and a blend of new and old is achieved with no compare. Puerto Rico's cities are popular vacation destinations for their beautiful sandy beaches and vibrant night life.
  1. San Juan

    • Metropolitan capital San Juan on Puerto Rico's northern coast is the center of the island's nightlife, with fine dining, dancing, and casino gaming. Shopping plazas are around every corner and delicious cafes serve some of the world's best coffee. One of San Juan's biggest attractions, however, is its historic settlement, Old San Juan, which holds the deep history of the Spanish colonial city, complete with cobblestone and 16th century forts. San Juan is also a paradisiacal getaway with its beautiful beaches and coastlines. From deep-sea fishing to snorkeling to kayaking, there are many water activities available at the San Juan beaches and a fun day in the sun is never hard to find.

    Rincon

    • Rincon, Puerto Rico, is a quiet haven ideal for relaxation and leisure at any time of year, serving as a winter getaway and a summer hot spot for some good-natured beach fun. Rincon is home to some of the best known surfing beaches in the world, such as Sandy Beach, Domes Beach, Spanish Wall, and Lighthouse Park. Located on the northeastern tip of the island at the intersection of the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, this city's coasts have some of the best waves for any water sport. Activities here include whale watching, horseback riding, snorkeling, deep-sea fishing and mountain biking.

    Ponce

    • Famous for its neoclassical architecture, the "majestic city" of Ponce is a cultural art center with its museums of art and music as well as historic cathedrals and building monuments. With history hiding in every corner, it is hard to walk the streets of areas in Ponce, such as the Plaza Las Delicias, without bumping into neoclassical and Moorish buildings or Spanish Colonial architecture. Nicknamed the "pearl of the South," Ponce is also well known as the island's dining capital, thriving on its daily catches from local fisherman.
