Why do Caribbean beaches have black sand?

Caribbean beaches do not typically have black sand. However, there are some notable exceptions, such as the beaches of Dominica, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and St. Lucia. The black sand on these beaches is primarily due to the presence of volcanic minerals and sediments, such as magnetite, augite, and olivine.
