The Northernmost Ocean: Arctic Ocean

The Arctic Ocean is Earth's northernmost ocean, centered on the North Pole and bounded by the Arctic Circle. It is the smallest and shallowest major ocean, largely covered by sea ice (seasonally variable). It connects to the Pacific via the Bering Strait and to the Atlantic via the Greenland Sea and Labrador Sea. Its unique ecology includes polar bears, seals, whales, and specialized plankton communities.
