What Caribbean islands are coral islands?

The Bahamas, Turks and Caicos Islands, Cayman Islands, Jamaica, and Belize are all coral islands in the Caribbean. These islands are formed from the accumulation of coral reefs and other marine organisms over millions of years. Coral reefs are made up of colonies of tiny animals called coral polyps, which secrete a hard exoskeleton made of calcium carbonate. Over time, the exoskeletons of the coral polyps build up to form large, complex reef structures. These reefs provide a habitat for a wide variety of marine life, including fish, mollusks, and crustaceans.
